Shopping center with restaurants in Norwich

The "Castle Quarter" in Norwich is not a standalone restaurant in the traditional sense, but a versatile shopping and leisure center that houses a variety of dining options. Located in the heart of the city, in close proximity to the historic Norwich Castle, it combines shopping, entertainment, and dining over five levels. Originally opened in 1993 as the "Castle Mall," it was renamed in 2019 to "Castle Quarter" to reflect its evolution into a modern lifestyle and social hub. Within the complex, there are various dining options, including the "Timberhill Terrace," which serves as a central dining area, as well as other restaurants and cafes covering a wide range of tastes.

Culinary highlights at Castle Quarter

One culinary highlight in the "Castle Quarter" is "Silhouette," a family-run Italian restaurant with a modern twist located in the Timberhill Terrace. The "Truffle Mushroom Pizza" is particularly appreciated here - an aromatic creation with truffle oil, fresh mushrooms, and a crispy crust that combines Italian classic with a touch of sophistication. Also popular is the "Spaghetti Carbonara," served with a creamy sauce and crispy pancetta, presenting traditional cuisine in an elegant way. For a quick but tasty snack, "Cocina" offers Mexican specialties like the "Chicken Quesadilla," filled with spicy chicken and melted cheese, which stands out for its fresh ingredients.

Entertainment options in Castle Quarter

The atmosphere in the "Castle Quarter" is characterized by its open, modern architecture that still preserves the historical significance of the location. The "Timberhill Terrace" is a light-filled area overlooking the surroundings, creating a relaxed environment for meals, while the lower levels of the center with their bustling energy remind of a classic shopping mall. Particularly "Silhouette" stands out with its stylish interior, complemented by innovative cocktails - such as the "Aperol Spritz Twist," refined with a hint of tropical fruits and perfect for light Italian cuisine. The other dining options, such as fast-food classics or coffee houses, add to the versatility and make the "Castle Quarter" a place where there is something for everyone.

In addition to restaurants, the "Castle Quarter" also offers entertainment options such as a Vue cinema, a Superbowl bowling alley, and various leisure activities, often making dining part of a larger outing. The "Castle Social" zone is a newer area that combines street food with live entertainment, providing a casual alternative to the sit-down restaurants. Here, one could enjoy a "Jerk Chicken Wrap," prepared with Caribbean spices and reflecting the multicultural diversity of the city.

A lovely shopping centre. However, there are a few empty shops. A lovely area on the top floor with a burger place, a place that serves hot baguettes (highly recommend, I had the beef brisket stuffing and gravy baguette), a bar, and a pizza place. Toilets and baby changing also on the same level.

If you want threading or waxing, this is the place to go, very friendly, professional, clean place. Never a long wait, been coming here for about 2 years now and no complaints.
